Seven Weeks Old Golden Retriever Puppy

I want to show you my 6 am morning routine with Leo. We adopted him the 5th of April 2024 and we had to adjust to our new life. The hardest part for me was give him attention before having a coffee. For this video, (same for my other videos lol) I did not do any special preparations before turning on the camera of my Iphone 14 Pro. I even forgot (again) my DJI wireless mic.

7 Proven Steps to Survive Your Morning Routine With a Puppy

Embrace the Chaos: Navigating the Puppy Morning Routine

If you’re a new puppy parent, you know that mornings can be a wild ride. From the moment your furry friend’s eyes open, it’s a whirlwind of activity, demanding your attention and energy. But fear not, fellow dog lovers! In this listicle, we’ll share seven proven steps to help you survive and even thrive during those early-morning puppy antics.

Step 1: Adjust Your Expectations

The first step to surviving the puppy morning routine is to adjust your expectations. Gone are the days of leisurely sipping your coffee while scrolling through social media. Instead, prepare for a symphony of barks, whines, and the occasional mischievous chewing session. Embrace the chaos and remember that this is all part of the joyful journey of raising a pup.

Step 2: Prioritize Puppy Needs

As tempting as it may be to enjoy your morning coffee in peace, your puppy’s needs must come first. Make sure to attend to their essential needs, such as potty breaks, feeding, and playtime, before indulging in your own routine. This may require some sacrifices, but your furry friend’s well-being should always be the top priority.

Step 3: Establish a Consistent Routine

Puppies thrive on routine, so it’s essential to establish a consistent morning schedule. This will not only help your pup feel more secure but also make the chaos a little more manageable. Designate specific times for potty breaks, feeding, and playtime, and stick to it as much as possible.

Step 4: Invest in Puppy-Proof Gear

Equip your home with puppy-proof gear to make your mornings a little easier. From chew-resistant toys to baby gates, these tools can help you maintain control and prevent unwanted destruction. Additionally, consider setting up designated areas or “puppy zones” where your furry friend can safely explore and play while you attend to your own needs.

Step 5: Enlist the Help of Family or Friends

Don’t be afraid to ask for help from family members or friends. Having an extra set of hands, even for a short period, can make a world of difference in your morning routine. Whether it’s taking turns with feeding or tag-teaming playtime, dividing the responsibilities can alleviate the stress and allow you to catch your breath.

Step 6: Embrace the Unexpected

Puppies are masters of the unexpected, and your morning routine is no exception. Spills, accidents, and unexpected messes are all part of the puppy-raising experience. Instead of getting frustrated, take a deep breath and approach these situations with patience and a sense of humor. Remember, these challenges are temporary, and your pup is still learning.

Step 7: Carve Out Time for Self-Care

While your puppy’s needs should be a top priority, it’s essential to take care of yourself as well. Make sure to carve out a few moments in your morning routine for self-care, whether it’s a quick meditation session, a brisk walk, or simply enjoying your coffee in peace. This will help you maintain your energy and sanity throughout the day.

Raising a puppy is a joyful but challenging experience, and the morning routine is often the most demanding part of the day. By following these seven steps, you’ll be well on your way to navigating the chaos with grace and, dare we say, even a bit of enjoyment. Embrace the chaos, prioritize your pup’s needs, and don’t forget to take care of yourself. Happy puppy parenting!
